Dino Babers landed a big piece for the future in 4-star center Tyrone Sampson.

Tyrone Sampson Jr., the third-ranked center in the 2018 class, per Rivals.com, has committed to Syracuse.

The four-star prospect weighs in at 304 pounds and stands 6 feet, 3 inches tall. Sampson was receiving attention from in-state powers Michigan and Michigan State as well as Louisville, Indiana and Virginia, before choosing the Orange.

The top-300 player will come in to aid and shore up what was a weak Syracuse offensive line that gave up 38 sacks last season. The East English Village (Michigan) High School prospect is Syracuse’s only four-star commit in the 2018 class to date. He is the third commit in the 2018 class.
